Most fashionista's can attest to the fact that the most fun thing to shop for is shoes. Whenever i step into a shoestore, i cannot come out without falling in love with a pair of shoes that i somehow convince myself i must have. To save yourself from buying shoes that you actually DON'T need, follow these guidelines...
flats: you can never go wrong with flats. you can dress them up or down, shove them in your suitcase, or wear them till the soles fall off. try to get a basic black, navy, or neutral color flat with a little embellishment so that it doesn't look completely boring.

pumps: pumps are a girls best friend. they make your legs look longer, leaner, and make your whole appearance much more sophisticated. a pair of black pumps is essential...they go with everything. splurge on a pair of nice black pumps, have them forever, and re-sole them when they get worn out. (pumps with a platform in front are far more comfortable...but then again beauty is pain!)

funky heels: either peep-toe, embellished, sequin or patent leather...a fun pair of heels can play up any basic little black dress or skirt and blouse. try not to get too funky so that you can only wear them once.

gladiator sandals: gladiator sandals are great for the spring/summer/fall. they make even a basic summer outfit look very fashionable. you can wear them with shorts and a t-shirt or a summer dress. make sure that the zipper doesn't cut your leg at a funny length because it can be very unflattering, and uncomfortable.

boots: boots are great for fall and winter. you can go for a fashionable riding boot, motorcyle boot, or a cowboy boot. whether you like a heel or flat boot, pick something that will not go out of style and has good quality. be aware if your gonna wear pants in your boots because if so, make sure you have plenty of room in the calf area.
